Tony Awards 2012 Nominations

今月1日に発表になった、今年のトニー賞ノミネートnote

『Crazy for You』が大好きな私は、Best Musical等10部門にノミネートされている『Nice Work If You Can Get It』と、同じく10部門にノミネートされたBest Revival of a Musical候補の『The Gershwins' Porgy and Bess』が気になります。
『Evita』や『Jesus Christ Superstar』のパフォーマンスも楽しみheart04
日本人としては、1月に亡くなられた石岡瑛子さんが『Spider-Man Turn Off The Dark』でBest Costume Design of a Musicalを獲得するのかも注目ですねflair

Tony Awards 2011 Nominations

5月3日に発表になったトニー賞のノミネート作品をチェックしていたら、悲しいニュースも入ってきましたweep
『West Side Story』『Gypsy』の劇作家アーサー・ローレンツが、5日に93歳で亡くなったとのことです。2009年には代表作『West Side Story』のリバイバルバージョンを演出し、90歳を過ぎてもなお元気な姿を見せていたのに、これが最後の演出となってしまいました。ご冥福をお祈りします。
今年の授賞式では哀悼の意を込めてフィーチャーされるかもしれません(意外にもLifetime Achievementの受賞はなかったみたいですね)。

今年ノミネートが一番多かったのは『The Book of Mormon』の14。『The Scottsboro Boys』が12、『Anything Goes』が9、同じくリバイバルの『How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying』は8と続きます(主演のDaniel Radcliffeはノミネートされていませんね)。
今年のラインナップを見ていると、『The Merchant of Venice』や『The Importance of Being Earnest』など、英文科の授業を思い出させる作品もあり、『The Motherf**ker with the Hat』というすごい題名のお芝居もあり、『Sister Act』や『Catch Me If You Can』といった映画でお馴染みのタイトルも…。
授賞式が俄然楽しみになってきました♪

Tony Awards 2010 Nominations

現地時間5月4日に発表になった今年のTONY AWARDS。
遅ればせながらノミネーションをやっとチェックしました。

ナイジェリア出身のミュージシャン、黒人解放運動家フェラ・クティを描いた『Fela!』と、リバイバル上演の『La Cage aux Folles』が11部門でノミネートされています。
『A Little Night Music』のCatherine Zeta-Jones、『A View from the Bridge』のScarlett Johanssonにも注目ですね。

今年は久々に、BShiで授賞式の生中継(同時通訳)があるとのこと(後日、字幕スーパー完全版も放送予定)。私、当日たまたまお休みを取っているので、朝からテレビの前に陣取って、気持ちだけラジオシティ・ミュージックホールに行こうと思いますnotes

Tony Awards 2009 Winners

第63回トニー賞が発表になりましたcrown

ミュージカルでは、大方の予想通り『Billy Elliot, The Musical(ビリー・エリオット)』が10部門を制し、演劇作品では作品賞に輝いた『God of Carnage(ゴッド・オブ・カーネジ)』が3部門で獲得shine

映画「リトル・ダンサー」を舞台化した『ビリー・エリオット』では、主人公の少年を演じた3人がミュージカル主演男優賞を同時受賞しました。演出は映画版の監督でもあるスティーブン・ダルドリーで、見事ミュージカル演出賞にも輝いています(近日公開の映画「愛を読むひと」もダルドリー監督の作品で、主演のケイト・ウィンスレットがアカデミー賞主演女優賞を受賞するなど、今年は大活躍ですね)。
『ビリー・エリオット』の3人はまだ10代の少年ですが、一方の演劇部門では、83歳の名女優アンジェラ・ランズベリーが、『Blithe Spirit(陽気な幽霊)』で助演女優賞を受賞。トニー賞受賞は今回で5回目です。

ちなみに、私の予想が当たったのは、演劇作品賞、ミュージカル作品賞、演劇リバイバル作品賞、ミュージカルリバイバル作品賞、演劇主演男優賞、演劇主演女優賞、ミュージカル主演女優賞、演劇助演女優賞、ミュージカル助演女優賞、ミュージカル舞台美術賞、演劇衣装賞、演劇演出賞、ミュージカル演出賞でした。私の予想よりも『Billy Elliot』が沢山獲った(ロンドン作品だからもう少し厳しくなるかと思っていた)のですが、結構当たったかな。実際に観劇していない私の予想なんて適当ですけど、一応現地レポを演劇サイトで読んだり、授賞式の顔ぶれから推測したりして考えたのです。

授賞式の模様は、6月28日(日)19:30からBS2で放送されます。『Billy Elliot』はもちろんんですが、リバイバルの『Hair』や『West Side Story』のパフォーマンスがめちゃくちゃ楽しみhappy02
前日の27日(土)20:00~21:30には「BSエンターテインメント 華麗なるショーの世界」として、ミュージカル特集番組が放送されます。笹本玲奈さん、井上芳雄さん、そして劇団四季(2010年春、東京・大井町に新たな専用劇場、四季劇場[夏]をオープンさせることが発表されました!)の歌とダンス、さらにはブロードウェイの最新情報が楽しめるようです。
また授賞式の放送の前に(13:00~17:59)、『カンパニー』と『シラノ・ド・ベルジュラック』もオンエアーされます
6月最後の週末は、theatergoerにとって至福の時間となりそうですね。

Tony Awards 2008 on TV

6/15夜(日本時間6/16午前)に決まった第62回トニー賞。
先月ノミネート作品が発表になっていたのに、私ときたら体調不良やら忙しさにかまけてチェック出来ず、毎年やっていた受賞予想もしないまま授賞式、そしてBS-2でのオンエアを迎えてしまいました。ミュージカルファン失格の大失態ですね。

ラテン系移民の街を描いたミュージカル『イン・ザ・ハイツ』が作品賞など4部門を受賞しましたが、最多の7部門を制したのはリバイバル作品賞の『南太平洋』。名作はやはり名作ということ、そして今の観客が観ても違和感のないような素晴らしい演出がなされているのだろうな、と思います。
同じくリバイバルの『ジプシー』で、約30年ぶりに主演女優賞を獲ったパティ・ルポン。『エビータ』以来の受賞にハイテンションになっている姿が可愛かったですね。『ジプシー』ではローラ・ベナンティ、ボイド・ゲインズも受賞しており、個人的には『イン・ザ・ハイツ』のような新しい潮流のミュージカルより、古い名作が印象に残ったトニー賞でした。アーサー・ロレンツがお元気そうだったのも何よりです。

Tony Awards 2007 Winners

第61回トニー賞の発表・授賞式が、今年もラジオシティーミュージックホールで行われました。
『Spring Awakening(春のめざめ)』が、8部門で受賞しましたね。1891年のドイツ戯曲がもとなのに音楽はロック。テーマはティーンエイジャーの性の萌芽。第二の『RENT』との呼び声高い作品なのだそうです。
演劇部門では、『The Coast of Utopia(コースト・オブ・ユートピア)』が、最優秀作品賞を含む7部門で受賞。ミュージカル以外の作品でこれほど多くの受賞するのは、トニー賞史上初めてだそうです。さすがトム・ストッパード!

なお、NHK BS2での放送は16日、それに先立って「ニューヨークまるごと72時間」と題した特集がBS1、2、hiで放送されます。そちらも楽しみです(*^o^*)

今年のトニー賞の候補作品、もうとっくに発表になっていたのに、旅行やら何やらで忙しく、すっかり忘れていました(あぁ、何という不覚!)。
